WHAT YOU WILL DO WITH US


  • You own the overall test strategy at nexum — you shape it, evolve it, and make sure people across teams and clients actually understand it and work with it
  • You translate that strategy into project-specific approaches: the right mix of functional, exploratory, performance and security testing depending on context, tech stack and what the client actually needs
  • You plan and steer test activities at project level — from test concepts and plans through to reporting and honest quality conversations with clients and leadership
  • You are the go-to person for test management in pitches, offers and estimations, and you make sure quality gets a proper seat at the table from day one
  • You spot where things could run better and you follow through — improving processes, tooling and collaboration all the way to implementation, not just flagging it
  • You build and grow the QA community at nexum — through mentoring, training, the occasional recruiting interview, and just being the kind of person others want to learn from

YOU ARE...

  • A test manager and quality leader at heart — organised, accountable, and someone people actually look to when things get uncertain or the release pressure kicks in
  • A genuine bug detective — not just someone who finds issues, but someone who digs into why they happen and helps make sure they don't happen again. And yes, you like staying on top of what's new in the QA world
  • A natural bridge between IT, project management and the client — you can explain a test strategy to a developer and a risk to a stakeholder, and both will get it
  • Independent enough to drive things on your own, collaborative enough to bring others with you — and comfortable when that means standing in front of a client in a workshop or a pitch
  • Someone who pushes back on the way things are done — not to be difficult, but because you genuinely believe quality is worth fighting for, and you know how to make that case

YOU HAVE...

  • Several years of hands-on experience in IT projects — ideally across e-commerce, web or mobile, with real test management responsibility and at some point a team or external test resources to lead
  • Solid practical experience with test automation — you know your frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar), you've wired tests into a CI/CD pipeline, and you can tell the difference between automation that actually helps and automation that just exists
  • Experience testing APIs and backend services (REST, Postman, RestAssured — that kind of thing), alongside the full range of test levels from unit to regression
  • A good feel for both agile and classic project setups and what they mean for how you test — and you've been living in JIRA and Confluence long enough that it's second nature
  • At least a basic handle on performance, load and security testing, and an awareness of accessibility requirements — because these come up, especially in e-commerce
  • Fluent in German and English — you'll need both, regularly (Spanish is a plus!)

YOU ARE WELL VERSED...

  • In knowing which test approach fits which situation — risk-based, exploratory, regression — and adapting that to teams and clients who aren't all at the same level of maturity
  • In the test pyramid and the trade-offs that come with it — not as a theoretical model, but as something you actually apply when deciding where to invest testing effort
  • With the tools — both automation and test management — that show up in our projects, and confident enough to evaluate and introduce new ones when something better comes along, test data and environment challenges included
  • In making test documentation and reporting useful rather than just thorough — quality gates, metrics, go/no-go criteria that teams and clients can actually act on
  • In the reality of consulting work — adapting your QA approach to clients who aren't always ready for it, contributing to proposals, and managing expectations when quality and deadlines don't naturally agree
